A one-man show based on a true story; the life story of Jacob Kozelchik, a Holocaust survivor who was a kapo in Block 11 at Auschwitz.
The play delves into Jacob’s coping mechanisms amidst the impossible situations he encountered. It traces his journey from his childhood in the town of Krinki, Poland, through his harrowing tale of survival during World War II, and the challenges he faced upon arriving in Israel.
A particularly moving play that touches on prejudices, the human tendency to categorize and judge, and the power of the survival instinct and the will to live.
Directed by Mazor Tal | Created by Chazi Eliyahu, a blind actor | Inspired by the book ‘The Prisoner of Block 11’, by Amir Hashkel
