Yaroslav, who’s deaf from birth, grew up in Kaliningrad, Russia. His grandparents are also deaf, hence his entire family communicates using sign language. A few years ago he immigrated to Israel and nowadays he lives in Tel Aviv.
Yaroslav feels like he was born ready to get on stage. He comes from a family of musicians and actors, and has been dancing since he was a little boy. In Russia, he participated in various professional productions, in both acting and dancing. In his opinion, deaf people are able to dance due to sensing the vibrations and the following rhythm inside. In the show, Yaroslav dances in high heels. It is difficult and challenging for him, but he feels that it is part of who he is – a man who is a little feminine.
In addition to participating in the shows “The Little Prince” and “Something Is Missing,” Yaroslav works as a waiter at Cafe Kapish, a bartender at BlackOut Restaurant, and an instructor at the sign language workshops. He loves to paint, take photos and edit videos, buy vintage clothes, and fly and travel the world.
