The Na Laga’at Festival for Groundbreaking Arts 2022

The Na Laga’at Festival for Groundbreaking Arts 2022

The Festival for Groundbreaking Arts 2022 took place from December 6-10.

What happened at the festival?

  • A festive opening event with the premiere of the new and original play “It Could Be a Man Standing in Snow” written and directed by Emanuella Amichai and starring blind, deaf, and deaf-blind actors. We were honored to host the Minister of Culture and Sports, Mr. Chili Tropper.
  • A fascinating exhibition by Oren Schwartz, a photographer with Usher Syndrome (which manifests itself in hearing and vision impairment) who broke his boundaries and photographed stars in impossible dark conditions.
  • A musical-literary performance featuring great artists such as: Prof. Haim Beer, Daniel Salomon, Menashe Noy, Karni Postel and Adam Ben Ami.
  • A fascinating dance performance combining dancers with blindness from the “Kelim Le’choreografia” Center in Bat Yam, in collaboration with MARSHAL – a multi-service center for the blind in Tel Aviv-Yafo.
  • Two specially produced performances for the deaf from the Riksteatern Crea Theater in Sweden and a performance combining singing with sign language by local creator Tami Asulin. The performances took place on the occasion of International Deaf Day, which was on Thursday.
  • The first performance of the audio thriller at the Darkness restaurant based on the book by Agatha Christie. The excitement was great and people came out really high!
  • The first of its kind international conference on inclusive culture and groundbreaking art. Actors and creators from Israel and abroad shared their knowledge, experience and vision on the subject of inclusive culture.

We would like to thank everyone who participated, visited, hosted, supported and created. See you at the next festival!
