Accessibility Arrangements at the Na Laga’at Center

The Na Laga’at Center believes in equal rights and opportunities for everyone to benefit from the center’s programs, including its website. The center’s staff undergoes training on providing accessible customer service.

In order to ensure a response, please contact us at least four days before the planned visit date. The request will be reviewed by the relevant agent and a response will be given within two business days of the inquiry.

General Accessibility

Wheelchair Users:

  1. The entire complex is on one level.
  2. There is an accessible elevator to the workshop room.
  3. In the Theater: Row 1 is wheelchair accessible.
  4. In the “BlackOut” Restaurant: Visitors may enter with manual wheelchairs. Electric wheelchairs are permitted only if they can be switched off and have no devices that emit or reflect light. If needed, we can provide manual wheelchairs following notice at least 48 hours prior to the visit.

*It is recommended to make contact in advance by phone/email (up to two business days) before arrival to coordinate parking and entry arrangements at the port.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing:

Theater Shows:

  1. “Not by Bread Alone”: The show is performed in Sign Language. In addition, there are subtitles throughout the show. Hearing amplifiers and FM headphones are available.
  2. “Deaf Conversation”: The show is performed in Sign Language. Hearing amplifiers and FM headphones are available.
  3. “Say Orange”: The show is performed in Sign Language and accompanied by subtitles. Hearing amplifiers and FM headphones are available.
  4. “Children of a Lesser God”: Most of the show is accessible in Sign Language. In addition, there are subtitles throughout the show. Hearing amplifiers and FM headphones are available.
  5. “It Could Be a Man Standing in Snow”: A movement, video, and performance show. Hearing amplifiers and FM headphones are available.

Kapish Event Space:

All service providers are deaf/hard of hearing and communicate using Sign Language.

In the Workshop Room:

All workshops are accessible by a Sign Language interpreter.

BlackOut Restaurant:

The BlackOut Restaurant is located in a completely dark area.

You can come to the restaurant with an interpreter.

Blind and Visually Impaired:

Theater Shows:

The shows “Not by Bread Alone,” “Say Orange,” and “Children of a Lesser God” are accessible by audio description (the number of headsets is limited).

Kapish Event Space:

There are guide strips on the floor in the event space. In addition, you can ask the center staff for help and assistance if needed.

In the Workshop Room:

All workshops, in light and in darkness, are accessible by speech.

Blackout Restaurant:

Entry to the restaurant is done with the accompaniment of one of the waiters. You can receive menus in Braille or ask the shift manager for help.

Introduction

The internet is today the largest source of freedom of information for all users, and users with disabilities in particular. As such, we attach great importance to providing equal opportunity for people with disabilities to use the information presented on the site, and to enable a better browsing experience. We strive to ensure that digital services are accessible to people with disabilities, and therefore many resources have been invested to make the site easier to use for people with disabilities, as much as possible, in the belief that everyone has the right to live in equality, dignity, comfort, and independence.

The accessibility of this site was carried out by the website accessibility company – “Accessible by Click.” The website complies, as much as possible, with the requirements of the Equal Rights for People with Disabilities Regulations (Accessibility Adjustments to Service), 5773-2013. The accessibility adjustments were made according to the recommendations of the Israeli Standard (SI 5568) for accessibility of online content at AA level and the international WCAG2.0 document.

The site provides a semantic structure for assistive technologies and support for the accepted usage pattern for keyboard operation.

How does accessibility work on the site?

This site uses an accessibility menu from the company “Accessible by Click” which operates using a dedicated accessibility server. The software allows the site to adhere to the WCAG 2.1 web content accessibility guidelines to level AA, as much as possible. Use of the menu is subject to the manufacturer’s terms of use. Clicking on the accessibility button opens the menu containing the accessibility buttons. After selecting a topic from the menu, please wait for the page to load.

The software works in popular browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Explorer 10+, Safari, Opera.

Accessibility options in the menu:

  • Keyboard navigation adaptation: Allows navigation using the keyboard
  • Screen reader adaptation: Adaptation of the site for assistive technologies such as NVDA, JAWS
  • Flicker blocking: Stopping moving elements and blocking flickering
  • Increase site font to 4 different sizes
  • Contrast adjustments: Change the color contrast of the site
  • Adaptation of the site for color blind people
  • Changing the font to be more readable
  • Increase the cursor and change its color to black or white
  • Zoom in to 200%
  • Highlight links on the site
  • Highlighting headings on the site

Using third-party components and sites

When using third-party components or websites on the site such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, external chats and others that are not under our control, it is possible that this will create challenges in using the site by people with disabilities that we cannot fix.
