Talk to the Hands

How did an ultra-orthodox deaf young man meet a secular hearing young woman?

Micha was born deaf to hearing parents in an ultra-orthodox family. Over the years he was surrounded by hearing people and a felt like he didn’t belong, until a chance meeting with a stranger opened a window for him to the world of sign language.

Lola was born in a secular family, grew up in a communal settlement surrounded by nature and during her military service a dream sparked in her to learn to converse in sign language.

Although they grew up in such different worlds, their choices led them to a common path far from everything they knew. This is the story of a fascinating journey, sometimes funny and sometimes challenging – but mostly full of meaning and inspiration.
