The artistic repertoire of the Nalaga’at Theater currently offers three shows that are targeted for ages 12 and up: “Not by Bread Alone”, “Through the Spirit” and the monodrama “Say Orange”. All of the theater shows provide a unique cultural encounter for the audience that is exposed to the work and talent of deaf-blind actors.
Since its opening in 2007, the Nalaga’at Theater hosted tens of thousands of students and teenagers, some of which even participated in direct meetings with the actors and were exposed to their life stories and to their personal experience as actors on stage. Nalaga’at also offers preparation meetings with educational staff, lesson plans and structured workshops to process the experience.
This experience holds an immense educational value for the young generation, as we commonly witness a change in perspective towards the true abilities of people with disabilities and their great contribution to society. In recognition of that, Nalaga’at offers subsidized tickets to formal and informal educational institutes and to any visitor under the age of 18, to enables the participation of thousands of young people in the theater shows and in other educational activities that the center offers.
The cost of a subsidized theater ticket is 45 NIS (instead of the regular 99 NIS price).
Due to the extremely high and unique costs of operation, Nalaga’at is struggling to fund this project independently and is in seek for partners that are interested in supporting it. We invite you to join us and support the subsidization for youths, and by that to expose them to the unique social and educational contents offered at Nalaga’at.
